KJT Group Volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House

KJT Group’s employee wellness program, “Wellness by Design”, puts special emphasis on activities that promote well-being, encompassing three core components: Physical Fitness, Nutrition, and Sound Mind.

As part of the ‘Sound Mind’ component of “Wellness by Design”, we volunteer in our community. It’s a great way for us to get out of the office and work together on something other than market research – and all for a great cause!

Last week, our employees in the Philadelphia area volunteered at the Erie Street Ronald McDonald House, organizing and cleaning up the attic where a large variety of supplies for staying families are stored. Too often, families show up in an urgent matter with just what’s on their backs. Donations and supplies are kept for these families coming and going at all times – anything from toiletries, gently used clothes, diapers, baby supplies, slippers, cold weather items, games, and costumes.

Afterwards, they sanitized and cleaned up the main play area. Keeping this area germ free is so important to these families who are in and out of the hospital on a daily basis.

The very first Ronald McDonald House is located in Philadelphia (Chestnut Street).

  • Chestnut Street supports families with critically ill children in long term care at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Wills Eye Institute, Jefferson Hospital, and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
  • Erie street, which was the 340th house, supports families of St. Christopher’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children
