KJT Group Presents on Workplace Wellness at 2018 HERO Forum

On October 4th, 2018, KJT Group’s Michelle Soto, Senior Vice President, Research and Rick Johnson, Vice President, Consulting Services presented at HEROForum18 in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

The focus of HEROForum18 was “From the C-Suite to the Shop Floor: Well-Being for All.” Michelle Soto and Rick Johnson presented to a crowd of more than 70 employers, employee health and well-being providers, wellness industry professional organizations, and research experts. Their presentation, entitled, “Workplace Health and Well-Being: The Employee Experience,” summarized findings from KJT Group’s LightSource Poll, a nationally representative survey of US adults on employer-sponsored wellness programs.

“HERO Forum presenters are known for delivering provocative speeches about what’s new, as well as best practices and emerging practices in the evolving field of workplace health and well-being,” said Paul Terry, president and CEO, HERO. “Forum speakers help benefits professionals understand the impact of workplace well-being, share strategies and research related to engaging people at all levels of an organization, while encouraging business leaders to embrace the role they play in helping employees, families, and communities thrive.”

On October 10th, 2018, BenefitsPRO released an article entitled, “Workplace wellness: The employee disconnect.” The article explains how employers can increase employee utilization and engagement with workplace wellness programs, using findings from the LightSource Poll. According to Rick Johnson, “It’s tough on employers. We have some sort of onboarding, a handbook, it’s laid out on page 108… what more do we need to do? If you want people to take action, you have to continue to inform them and inform them in different channels.” Like the study’s findings, the article concludes work is needed to make employee wellness programs more effective, but at least now employers have an idea of where to start.
