Formulate statistical data analysis plans (e.g. approach to data cleaning, transformations, data exploration, and implementation of a specified model).
Participate in the development of survey questionnaires as needed to ensure that survey data will meet analytical requirements.
Programming/conducting all facets of analytical plan – data cleaning, transforming, exploration, and analysis (univariate, multivariate) for both survey and secondary data sources.
Maintenance of programming code to ensure reproducibility and reusability.
Exploration and implementation of new models or statistical methods.
Model and methods diagnostics; making sure the selected analysis is appropriate for the data.
Programming of statistical models in client-friendly software or executables.
Develop data visualizations for research reports and client presentations.
Participate in presentations, as necessary via telephone and in-person.
Provide interpretations of statistical output (e.g. model coefficients, p-values, confidence intervals, NHST, Bayesian posterior estimates)
Develop tools for implementation of statistical models.
Communicate with internal and external clients to understand business objectives.

Advanced degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or a social science (psychology, sociology, political science, or economics) with 0-2 year’s post-Masters professional work experience, or a Bachelor’s with 2-4 year’s statistical analysis work experience.
Statistics coursework required.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Experience with in-depth data analysis and model building.
Proficiency with R or STATA.
Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint applications.
Knowledge of Bayesian statistics, hierarchical models, and finite mixture models desired.
Knowledge of object oriented and functional programming desired.
Effective time management/ task prioritization skills.
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications.
