About Rick Johnson

Rick Johnson is the Vice President of Consulting Services at KJT Group. He is responsible for ensuring that the strategic needs of clients and future clients are being addressed, as well as helping to develop new thought leadership efforts.

Prior to joining KJT Group in 2017, Rick served as the Practice Lead for both the Healthcare and Government practices at J.D. Power where he developed new studies and directed the firm’s efforts in both industries.  Previously, Rick served as Senior Vice President at Lake Research Partners where he conducted extensive research on what was to become the Affordable Care Act; General Mills where he was an internal research consultant for the company’s consumer insights unit; and for Synovate (now Ipsos).  Earlier, he ran the healthcare division in the Midwest for the Gallup Organization.

Rick is a frequent speaker on various healthcare topics to audiences such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Medicine, and Cornell University.  His work has appeared in hundreds of publications such as Bloomberg, Chicago Tribune, CNBC, Dailey Caller, Forbes, Los Angeles Times, Motley Fool, NPR, Washington Times, and Yahoo Finance.

Rick received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was awarded Amnesty International’s Ralph Bunch Fellowship Award as one of the top 100 graduating students, and was a commencement speaker at his graduation ceremony.  He attended the master’s degree program at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy, and did additional graduate work as a Wilson Fellow at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.
